After having several successful treatments of Gaudua, it was time for us to build out the system to our base production level. We will scale out this system and invent newer and faster ways of processing the bamboo.

The solution we treat the bamboo with is a mis of Borax and Boric Acid, which when blended together dilute well into the water. Then, through the process of transfusion, we push out the sugary starches that the bug and termites eat, and pump in these naturals salts. Once dried, the hardened crystals prevent bugs from being able to digest the wood, making bamboo as truly viable building timber.

M.A.E. stands for Materiales Ambientales Ecologicos, which is a Sustainable building materials Mill located in Naranjito, Costa Rica.
